making Hushpuppies
Our hushpuppies are made fresh and have a light fluffy texture.
Set up
- hushpuppies mix
- water
- mixing bowl
- spatula
- #70 cookie scoop
Preparation
Step 1
In a mixing bowl add the hushpuppy mix and water
Stir until it is fully incorporated
Step 2
Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes then stir it again
Step 3
Using a #70 scoop, take the dough and gently release it over the oil
The closer you are to the oil when releasing the dough the less likely it will splash.
Step 4
When there is 20 seconds left on the timer, shake the basket vigorously
Step 5
Let the hushpuppies cool, then add them to the order
The hushpuppies should be a light golden color with a crunchy crust and a light and fluffy center.
